        The Village Creek Retreat. Only 15 miles north of Beaumont, Texas, the 3200 sq. ft., rustic, split-sided log cabin sits amidst 30 acres of loblolly pine, oak, cypress, yaupon, birch, and mayhaw trees with the majestic Village Creek at its front doorstep. The Retreat is surrounded by the Big Thicket where there are over 200 native species of birds such as rain loving wood ducks, egrets, Pilated woodpeckers, herons and some rare bats.  Off Hwy 96 just barely north of Lumberton, it’s ideal for family reunions, church groups, employee retreats, birthday parties, birding groups, canoeing groups, or company picnics.

The Retreat's fully furnished main cabin has sleeping accommodations for 20 adults (8 double beds, 2 queen-size sleeper sofas), central heat and air plus many ceiling fans, 3 large bathrooms with showers, 2 televisions (Local stations only & VCR/DVD inputs), complete kitchen facilities including an electric range, 2 refrigerators, and some assorted kitchenware.  It also features a 12 X 40 dining room, 24 X 20 living room with wood burning fireplace, and a 20 X 30 meeting / recreation room with pool table. Additionally there is a 200 X 200 fully equipped playground, 30 X 60 covered pavilion with many sturdy picnic tables, with handy AC Outlet too, 20 X 40 bar-b-que / fish cleaning house, concrete boat-ramp, and easy access to Village Creek via a very nice sandbar (most of the year).  Note: Pillows furnished but no linen & No jet skis or four wheelers allowed & No harassment of wild deer or other wildlife tolerated.
